The
imdb website of the new Jane Eyre production has updated its filming locations section with a lot of new places.
Besides the already known
Haddon Hall (Thornfield Hall),
Bolsover Castle (Lowood),
Belton House (Gateshead) or
Sudbury Hall (Gateshead's Red Room) we find these new locations:
Chatsworth House, Edensor, Derbyshire (right hand picture,
source)
Goyt Valley, Derbyshire
Hathersage, Derbyshire (which is nice as it is the 'real' Jane Eyre landscape that probably Charlotte Brontë had in min
d)
Ilam Youth Hostel, Ilam, Ashbourne, Derbyshire (left hand picture)
Dovedale, Staffordshire (Dovedale and Ilam Park were already mentioned in a
previous post of ours)
Snake Pass, Derbyshire
Wingfield Manor, South Wingfield, Derbyshire (that was also used in Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre)
Tissington Hall, Ashbourne, Derbyshire
And the most exotic one:
Maspalomas, in the Canary Islands, Spain (we guess that for some West Indies footage)
More things that we have found about this production:
Llloyds of Bakewell have provided all the catering for the production crew of Jane Eyre which has just been filmed at Haddon Hall, Tissington Hall and throughout the beautiful countryside of the Peak District. And two new names of the supporting cast that we didn't knew when we published
our last post:
Sally Sheridan as the Headmistress and
Charlotte West-Oram as Mrs. Dent.

Jane Eyre was being filmed at Haddon Hall when we visited it and since has done more filming there. Amazing how the place was decorated to look like Spring when it was winter. Beautiful place any time of the year.
ReplyDeleteA bit late, but Maspalomas with its huge sand dunes would have been the location for Jane's imaginary desert scenes
