This can hardly be considered news, because the article was originally published a couple of months ago, but it's still nice to see images from the shooting of the new BBC Jane Eyre production. These pictures of the crew filming in Haddon Hall were published on the EM-Media website (the Regional Screen Agency for the East Midlands):

This Summer the BBC spent three months filming in Derbyshire and other locations in the East Midlands. Not only does this provide the chance to see some of the region's most stunning locations on your TV screen, it brings a huge financial boost to the region and increases its tourism profile. Find out how EM Media works behind the scenes to support and encourage filming within the East Midlands.

Back in December last year Giles Edleston, BBC Location Manager, contacted EM Media with a view to scouting suitable locations for a forthcoming drama adaptation of the classic Jane Eyre story. Giles consequently traveled to EM Media’s offices to look through the extensive locations database.

The stately homes and rolling countryside of the East Midlands and specifically Derbyshire have proved to be a fantastic draw for period dramas and on this occasion it was Haddon Hall which clinched the deal, ensuring the BBC production used the East Midlands for the three month shoot and not Yorkshire, as originally planned.

The fact that the East Midlands was selected as the final destination proved to be a real boost for the region with the 90 strong cast and crew using accommodation and facilities during their three month stay. EM Media is awaiting confirmation of the final spend amount but its set to be in the region of £4million.

Some of the locations chosen can be found on this post of ours.
