Confusing news about Hugh Dancy's involvement in the Brontë biopic that Angela Workman is preparing. He is interviewed by Movies Online and this is what he says about the Brontë project:
Q: Isn’t there another project you have called "Bronte”?Hugh Dancy: Yes, but it doesn’t exist. I don’t know why. I’ve been asked about that a lot but I don’t know anything about it. (Interview by Sheila Roberts)

This is certainly contradictory to what we published some time ago reporting his cast as George Smith (he also appears credited on the imdb) and with Angela Workman's statement some time ago where she said that
Hugh Dancy, George Smith, who is so eager to play the role of the publisher George Smith, is the perfect embodiment of this youthful, brilliant, shining young man born to a higher class than the other young men in this story, and for whom Charlotte develops an enormous passion against every sensible instinct.

  1. This isn't the first time he's said he not only isn't doing it but hadn't even heard about it at all. This is very sad news. I had really wanted to see him in it.

  2. This is sad news indeed. But do check what we posted after this - that's even sadder.
