Not very exciting on the news front, but what can we do?

The Guardian has a long, long article on Tintin, where the cartoon and its creator are compared to several literary figures, among them - yes, you guessed right - the Brontës:

A huge symbolic register runs through the books, turning around signs such as the sun, water, the house, even tobacco - a register that, consistent and expanding at the same time, is worthy of a Faulkner or a Brontë.

And it was a long time since Wuthering Heights - for it tends to be The Chosen One - didn't come up in any sports article. The existence of Emily Brontë the race horse must have encouraged all those sports journalists to pick up the novel :P

Arrival at Kearsney during late afternoon before our first game vs. Hilton College reminded me somewhat of my favourite set-work book, Wuthering Heights, where the eerie, misty English moors was a regular description depicting the landscape and general atmosphere.
Visibility was minimal and we had called a light fielding, touch rugby session. Luckily we had no volatile Heathcliff or Catherine in our midst.

And finally, Juliet Barker - author of The Brontës - has a new book. It's not Brontë-related, but we thought some people might be interested. Here's a review of it just in case.
