If a few weeks ago we were suprised to read a sports review where a golf course was compared to Wuthering Heights today we have made a similar face when we have read that one Jane Eyre has won a golf fun competition (whatever that is about). What we don't know is whether that's her real name or just a nickname.

We see the Brontës taking a very active part in sports in their afterlife - or have you forgotten about race horses Emily Brontë and Shirley Heights? What's next? Northanger the rugby player? Gilbert Markham the athlete? Lucy Snowe the figurative skater? Place your bets - it will come.
