Random Harvest Productions has updated its page devoted to
Brontë, the film now in pre-production written and directed by Angela Workman that has been on the news for some time now. Some months ago
we published some news about the current status of the film. Lynn Collins, the much reported actress that was to be Charlotte Brontë was finally out of the film, probably due to the repeated delays of the production.
Angela Workman
previously had said that "
we have assembled an all-star cast but cannot post names here until we get an official go-ahead". Now, on the film's website we can see some of the possible names of that all-star cast:
Michelle Williams is the new lead actress. We suppose that she is the new Charlotte Brontë. She was recently nominated to the Oscars as Best Supporting Actress for Brokeback Mountain. As she is married with Heath Ledger (and everybody now knows that Heath is for Heatchliff) and
they lived, until recently, in a house in Bronte Beach, Australia... it seems that her role in this film was a logical conclusion :P.
Brian Cox (maybe, Patrick Brontë).
Imelda Staunton (probably Aunt Branwell) (another Oscar nominated. She appeared among many other films in Sense and Sensibility as Charlotte Palmer)
Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (George Smith ??, Branwell ??, William Weightman??). The most puzzling, for us, name in the cast. He participated in a bizarre production (with some Brontëish connections) some years ago: "
The Governess")
Ben Chaplin (Arthur Bell Nichols ??)
Of course, these names are to be taken with caution. Remember Lynn Collins.
