After several months without signficant news on Brontë - the film, there's something to report. Angela Workman (the director and writer) commented the following on the IMDB message board devoted to Brontë:

Yes, I did a lot of research there (and also at the British Library). I was given access to the parsonage (beyond the Do Not Enter signs), and also to the Brontes' original works, their juvenilia and other things, before I wrote the screenplay. The British Library granted me a 'Scholar's ID' and I was able to read the original 'Vilette' and take a look at all the things they keep there. (A lock of Charlotte's hair from her death bed, in fact). It was really quite wonderful.

Thank you for checking in. I realize this is taking longer than any of us expected, but we're still working diligently to get the film on its feet for summer. (4 Jan 2006)


There's also a significant change on the imdb page. Lynn Collins does not appear now. Is she finally out of Brontë?
