Well, we don't know really if it's an important role or not, because the role has not been confirmed, but we know Sam Hoare is in the upcoming BBC's Jane Eyre production as his CV at the pfd agency publishes it.

Looking at his physical characteristics (187 cm, blond) we can speculate a little bit: one of Rochester's pals? Bertha's brother? Or maybe... St. John Rivers? Look at the picture (that belongs to the short film Foxy, more pictures here) and compare with the novel's description (Chapter 29) :

He was young -perhaps from twenty-eight to thirty- tall, slender; his face riveted the eye; it was like a Greek face, very pure in outline: quite a straight, classic nose; quite an Athenian mouths and chin. (...) His eyes were large and blue, with brown lashes; his high forehead, colourless as ivory, was partially streaked over by careless locks of fair hair.

Place your bets :P.
