And just after we published the previous information, we have noticed that the imdb webpage for the new BBC production of Jane Eyre has been updated.

About the cast we have now the confirmation of Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephenson as Jane Eyre and Edward Rochester. Francesca Annis is now definitely confirmed as Lady Ingram (as was published previously).

There are also some names that we already knew (as Sandy Welch in the writing or Grenville Horner in the production design) and some new ones in technical aspects (as the assistant directors or sound recordist).

We'd like to highlight one name: Andrea Galer, the costume designer. She worked in the recent "Bleak House" (also directed by Susanna White), the 1999 Mansfield Park film adaptation directed by Patricia Rozema and ... especially Firelight, a not very well-known movie directed in 1997 by William Nicholson and that, this half of BrontëBlog, particularly holds in great esteem. The film had a very Brontëish, very JaneEyrish even, atmosphere. On the picture you can see Sophie Marceau and Stephen Dillane sharing a tender moment. Here you can see more images of the movie.

  1. Hi there

On our new website - www.TheNeverEndingStory.co.uk- you can add to the last line of Emily Bronte's classic Wuthering Heights to create Volume 2 of this masterpiece.

I know this won't be to everybody's taste, but we trying to encourage people to read and write by giving them a range of online publications (including 7 started by well-known personalities including the BBC's Jeremy Vine) they can engage with.

  2. Glad you liked the post, Melinda!

I have never had the chance of watching Firelight myself, but from what M. tells me I think I'd like it too :)
