Some time ago we posted about Jane Eyre, the rock band and we, innocently, said that:

So, if you add (to Jane Eyre) Wuthering Heights, a Danish progressive power metal and folk-metal band (whatever that means), that has been on stage since the beginnings of the 90's, we have just Anne without a band for herself. From the BrontëBlog we make a call to the rock bands out there looking for a good name: Agnes Grey or Wildfell Hall are free !

Well, we were mistaken. Anne has her own band: Agnes Grey.

Chris Corrado and Evan Jackson joined up with Ben Chadwick and Nate Marchand for "Roses Are Dead" which later changed to "Agnes Grey" At the begining of '06 Nate left to band and the place was taken by Nate Gaunder. In January Ace came along and filled a much needed position in the band on keys. Now the five are trying to make some sick music with "Agnes Grey".

You can check in their webpage the upcoming shows of the band. Today, March 11, they're playing in Fairfield, Maine.

Uhm, yes, they define themselves as a metal/glam/2-step band and you can listen to several songs in their webpage. Now, we only need a band for Branwell. Sooner or later.

  1. Hey. This is Ben Chadwick from Agnes Grey. I think its really funny that you guys somehow found out about us. We are named after the book. Our vocalist Chris Corrado and our Ex-Guitarist Evan Jackson were in their school library at one point or another and came across the actual book and decided it would be a good band name. So far it's served us well aside from a couple mis prenunciations i.e. Angus Grey. But thanks for noticing us at least. If you guys want to know anything else just let me know. chiddy87@gmail.com

  2. Well, it was quite a surprise to find a rock band named after Anne Brontë's first novel. And now, have you read it?
