Independent News include the following on their 'Hot List':

1. ‘LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR’ After the smashing success of “Carmen,” the Pensacola Opera unleashes its second production in ‘06, “Lucia Di Lammermoor,” to the masses at the Saenger Theatre on Friday, March 10 and Sunday, March 12. Think “Romeo & Juliet” meets “Wuthering Heights.”

I confess to utter ignorance on all opera matters. Fortunately, the other 50% of BrontëBlog knows what he's talking about when he informs me that this opera by Gaetano Donizetti was written in 1835 and, apparently, the comparison to Wuthering Heights is not at all far-fetched since it's based on Walter Scott's The Bride of Lammermoor. And who doesn't know about Emily's passion for his works?

Interesting, isn't it?
