Some days ago we presented the Houston premiere of Jane Eyre. The musical, next week another Jane Eyre production will also be performed in Texas, this time in the Abilene Christian University (ACU).

Imagine how shocked those 19th century reviewers of Jane Eyre would be, or those fathers who wouldn't allow their daughters to read that coarse and unChristian Jane Eyre to see it proudly staged at a Christian School!

There's a concern to avoid creating a "Christian ghetto" in which overtly Christian-themed productions attract only Christians, he said. Rather, the university wants to reach a broader demographic. The department will perform "Jane Eyre" and "Of Mice and Men" this season.

Everything changes.

Some dates to be taken into account:

Today, February 7 at the Grace Museum in Abilene, Los Aficionados (a support organization of the Museum) organizes a presentation of the show:
11:30 a.m. - Los Aficionados Luncheon - Winter Dinner Theater - Jane Eyre. Guest Speakers: ACU Theater Arts students and Adam Hester, director.

February 15 , 19:30 p.m. - Preview night and activities for students: Behind the scenes.

February 16-18, 24-25, March 3-4 - Performances at the Fulks Theatre.
