A few months ago we commented on mentions to the Brontës in Paul Auster's new book.

Today, through The Observer, we discover that this might be seeping in from his wife, Siri Hustvedt, who is a confessed Brontë admirer, to the point of also featuring them in her new collection of essays, A Plea for Eros:

Hustvedt is also an inspiring literary critic. Her love of other writers is palpable. Of Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and David Copperfield she writes: 'It is fair to say that to this day I have not recovered from a single one of those novels.'

'Recover' gives us bittersweet vibes, though.
