We find a really cool feature in The Observer. It's the Book Doctor!

Q: On Valentine's Day, I gave my boyfriend a copy of Emma, whereupon he confessed he had never even read Pride and Prejudice. What should I do?
Matilda, Brighton

A: The surgery is very crowded in the aftermath of 14 February. The book doctor suggests a crash course in literary fiction. Start with Gulliver's Travels or Tom Jones. Once you have introduced him to Elizabeth Bennet et al you should follow up with Great Expectations, Wuthering Heights or Middlemarch. If all else fails, head for the hills and trade up.

Gotta love the reply! :D
