Heathcliff is nothing but a comic-strip name

... Or so says Bruce Lansky, author of The Very Best Baby Name Book. He may know all about names, but thinking Heathcliff the cat is the source of Heathcliffs is quite a mistake (same goes for regular Charlie):

He lists saints, popes, mythological figures, nursery-rhyme characters and even comic-strip personalities: Charlie, Heathcliff and Ziggy.
