Eric Ormsby from The New York Sun has written a unique article. Unique because it's not every day - or every year for that matter - that you see an article on Emily Brontë's poetry on a newspaper.

Don't expect some sort of scholarly article, though. It's a light, personal piece of writing on the greatness of Emily's poetry and inspiration.

However:

During her lifetime she and her two sisters gathered their poems together and self-published a volume entitled "Poems by Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell" in May 1846, with Emily sheltering under the alias of "Ellis." It isn't always clear which sister wrote what (...).

Ahem! We aren't so lucky as to have actually had a first edition in our hands but we are pretty sure that at the foot of each poem it was stated whether it was Currer's, Ellis's or Acton's. Oh well. At least he tried.

(Just in case the samples of Emily's poetry quoted in the article have made you want more, remember the Poems are available online!)
