The Rare Book School (RBS) has been in charge of an on-going series of exhibitions in the Dome Room of the Rotunda at the University of Virginia. The books and other materials shown in these exhibitions are drawn both from the RBS collections and from the UVa Library, supplemented by occasional loans by other institutions and individuals.

Next November 7 an exhibition on Jane Eyre is scheduled to open, marking the 150th anniversary of the death of Charlotte Brontë named "Eyre Apparent". For the time being the details of the exhibition are not released on the web (although you can see the poster). Nevertheless thanks to bronteana.blogspot.com you can picture the whole thing quite well. On the previous link, you can also find important information about "a day-long celebration of Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre at the University of Virginia (UVa) on Friday, 9 December. The occasion features special tours of a major exhibition opening this fall and on view in the principal room of the University, the Dome Room of Thomas Jefferson's Rotunda."

We hope to post some more information about this interesting exhibition (that will close next year, May 1) in the near future.
