Newsday.com carries a review of the current production of Jane Eyre, the musical in the CM Performing Arts, Long Island, Oakdale, NY.

"At CM Performing Arts, Brianne Boyd enacts a somberly spirited Jane Eyre, matching a refined score with dignity and a disciplined mezzo-soprano. Timothy Conway as Rochester, the lord of Thornfield Hall who hires Jane as governess for his motherless child, presents a dark romantic counterpoint. Andrea Galerno as the hard-of-hearing housekeeper leavens the solemnity of Rochester's crushing secret with her malapropisms. Amplifying the protagonist's spunk is Rosemary Turner as young Jane, an abused but defiant orphan. Rebecca Posteraro, trilling operatically, adds tension as the adult Jane's rival for Rochester's troth." (Steve Parks)

The production opened last October 2 and will run until October 23. More information on the previous link.
