The Brontë Society announced recently the new Writer-in-residence and the Brontë Parsonage Museum, Ian Humphreys:
We are pleased to announce Ian Humphreys as our Writer in Residence for 2023/24.

Ian is an award-winning local poet with national reach. His strong connection to the Pennines landscape and the recurring themes in his work respond perfectly to our Year of the Wild. The Museum team look forward to working with Ian and seeing the valuable contribution and impact his work will make to the creative life of the Museum over the coming year.
"I’m honoured and excited to be the new Writer in Residence at the Brontë Parsonage Museum. I’m looking forward to exploring the Brontës’ novels and poems in relation to the starkly beautiful South Pennines landscapes which helped inspire the sisters’ ground-breaking work."
“We’re really excited to have Ian on board as Writer in R
esidence. Ian’s poetry is inspired by the natural Yorkshire landscape; from flora and fauna to walking on the moors, his strong creative connection to the environment is perfect for our Year of the Wild. Ian has ambitions to bring new community groups to the museum and introduce them to the beautiful hills of Haworth. We’re looking forward to Ian producing a collaborative piece of work that aims to create a sense of belonging for people who may otherwise feel excluded from natural spaces.” (Sassy Holmes, Programme Officer)
