I wish I had discovered your website earlier. When I wrote Thornfield Hall,an account of some of the events in Jane Eyre as seen from the point of view of Mrs Alice Fairfax, the housekeeper, I thought I was breaking fresh ground. Wide Sargasso Sea is a prequel so I wasn't treading on Jean Rhys' toes. My attention was concentrated on Jane Eyre, not the internet.
ReplyDeleteI just came across this blog. As an avid fan of the Bronte sisters for years, I have delved deeper and deeper into their history and constantly am on the search for more details about their lives. I've not had the pleasure of finding any online community or fanbase dedicated to this interest, so I'm really glad I found this! It's like a Christmas present - I get to read up on info I haven't uncovered yet!
ReplyDeleteI myself actually recently started a blog on the Bronte sisters and their fanbase (at whatsupwithbrontemania.wordpress.com). It would be super super cool of you to check it out! I'm happy to have found an outlet to my obsession, since I can't actually travel back in time to meet the Brontes.
Well done on this blog - and keep writing!
Thanks for the kind words - glad you found us! We will definitely check your blog out.
