Jane Eyre is the masterpiece of Charlotte Brontë, a well-known woman writer in England, and is one of the unique novels in the Victorian Age as well. It tells a story about Jane Eyre, a woman with knowledge and rebellious spirit pursuing liberty, equality and true love. In this paper, I’ll will briefly introduce the life experiences of Charlotte Brontë, analyze Jane Eyre’s rebellious spirit and put forward my own views.

The purpose of the article is to determine the accomplishment of independence of the protagonist Jane. The novel describes the situations of the women in the Victorian period. In the nineteenth century women started struggling for their rights such as independence and equality not only in the society but also in the family.
