A virtual alert for tomorrow, August 13, organized by the Wellington Square Bookshop (Exton, PA):
The Brontës vs. Jane Austen: A conversation with Finola Austin & Natalie Jenner

Two Books, Two Authors: Brontë's Mistress by Finola Austin & The Jane Austen Society by Natalie Jenner.

Thursday, August 13, 2020 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Ever wonder how classic writers influence modern writers? How they weave a new story while maintaining a revere for the prose? Join us on August 13th via Zoom for a 90-minute discussion between these two contemporary authors.

While not necessary to attend the event, we always encourage support for the authors and we invite you to purchase their respective novels on our website below.

Visit the event and watch live! Go to the event on FACEBOOK LIVE August 13 at 7PM!

Finola and Natalie will discuss:

•Branwell Brontë's scandalous affair with an older woman, which inspired Finola's novel Brontë's Mistress
•What inspired Natalie to fictionalize the story of the Jane Austen Society's origins in her novel, The Jane Austen Society
•Their favorite (and least favorite) Austen and Brontë novels
•What drew them to the Brontës and Austen, and whether they'd ever consider going over to the other side..
•Why Austen and the Brontës, and other women writers, are often pitted against each other and what we can do to change this
