Jane Eyre the Musical in Houston

Since January 9th and through January 16th, Gordon and Caird's Jane Eyre the Musical is on at the Houston Family Arts Center academy stage. From the Facebook event page:

The award-winning Houston Family Arts Center Actors Academy area premiere of Jane Eyre: the musical opens on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the HFAC Actors Academy Stage. With a book by John Caird, based on the original classic novel by Charlotte Bronte, and music and lyrics by Paul Gordon, Jane Eyre: the musical was nominated for five (5) Tony Awards, including Best Musical, during the 2000-2001 theatre season.

One of the greatest love stories of all time is transformed into this major new Broadway musical. True to its 19th century origins and the original novel by Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre: the musical is a lavish Victorian banquet of emotions; passion, faith, forgiveness, and – most of all – the eternal healing power of an all-consuming love. Jane Eyre’s sweeping love story is breath-taking in its scope and beauty, steeped in rich tradition and overflowing with joy. Filled with soaring melodies, the score embodies a romantic lyricism uncommon in the modern Broadway musical. It is an inspiring musical that will delight and amaze the entire family.

Jane Eyre: the musical is directed by Ilich Guardiola, with music direction by Sam Brown.
