A new production of Wuthering Heights opens in Hull and another one of Jane Eyre. The Musical in the Netherlands:
Hull Truck Theatre presents

Wuthering Heights
7 Oct 2010 - 23 Oct 2010 @ 8pm -
Main House
Writer: Emily Brontë
Director: John Godber

Heathcliff, a foundling, is Cathy Earnshaw's foster brother. As they grow up together Cathy and Heathcliff become soul mates falling deeply and passionately in love.
But when forces tear them apart, this love becomes dark and destructive affecting everyone around them.
Heathcliff wreaks vengeance on those he holds responsible, even into a second generation.
Emily Brontë's classic novel of love, obsession, jealousy and revenge is brought to life on the Hull Truck stageby Jane Thornton, author of Say It With Flowers and I Want That Hair.
EDIT: The Brontë Parsonage Blog posts about the production here.

The Beverley Guardian has more information:
DOG walkers on the Westwood might have been met by an unusual scene this week.
That is because the star-studded cast of Hull Truck’s latest production, Wuthering Heights, were out on the pasture for a special photoshoot.
The production will feature former Coronation Street stars Gaynor Faye and Rupert Hill, known from their roles as Judy Mallett and Jamie Baldwin, who will take the roles of doomed lovers Cathy and Heathcliff.
They will be joined by Stuart Wade, known as Biff from Emmerdale, along with Fiona Wass from Grown Ups, and Truck favourite Frazer Hammill. The book has been adapted by Jane Thornton, the writer of I Want That Hair and Say it With Flowers, and will be directed by John Godber. (...)
John Godber said: “Wuthering Heights is known as a love story, but it is also very brutal.
“There is a lot of death and illness in the play and we need to get that across.
“The relationships, the way that people are with each other, is also very harsh. In that way, the text is very modern; I hope this adaptation will help introduce Wuthering Heights to a new audience.”
