Ed Westwick talks about his forthcoming role as Heathcliff in the Wuthering Heights film project written by Olivia Hetreed and directed by Peter Webber. On ITN News:

Gossip Girl heart throb can't wait to start work on the new movie adaptation of Emily Bronte's novel, alongside Gemma Arterton.

    I've got to say Ed looks more like a Heathcliff in real life than when he's on Gossip Girl. I'm slowly coming round to this casting decision. Still very excited about Gemma though. Ed comes across really well in this brief interview. Also, Ed does resemble Marlon Brando a little bit, who i think would have played Heathcliff brilliantly, so that's a plus. I guess we'll see if he has anywhere near his acting chops. He is the best actor in Gossip Girl by a long way i''l give him that.

    It's cute it's his mum's favourite book, too.

    Let's see if he can match Tom Hardy in the role. I am curious to see him play Heathcliff. Loved Hardy's take on Heathcliff . As far as Brando Tom Hardy reminds me of Brando. Its exciting to find new talent and Ed looks like a Heathcliff at any rate and I think he can do it very well from the little bits of clips I've seen him in. Best wishes to him on his new role..
