As we informed some days ago, from April 14 until April 16, Angela Barlow performs Reader, I Married Him at the Alma Tavern and Theatre in Clifton, Bristol, UK:
14th - 16th April
8pm

Angela Barlow presents
Reader, I Married Him by Angela Barlow

Lively, intriguing one-woman play, written and performed by Angela Barlow. To be played in tandem with After Chekhov (April 17, 18, 19).
Charlotte Brontë, Yorkshire recluse and passionate creator of Jane Eyre, contemplates her wedding tomorrow to the local curate. He is certainly no Mr Rochester. Should she go through with the marriage or not?

‘Angela Barlow’s controlled and graceful unveiling of the novelist, Charlotte Brontë’ – The Scotsman
On the Angela Barlow's website more information can be found:
It is the night of June 28th, 1854, and in Yorkshire, at Haworth Parsonage, novelist Charlotte Brontë is preparing for her wedding. The acclaimed author of Jane Eyre is about to marry the Reverend Arthur Bell Nicholls, a man who bears no resemblance to Charlotte's ideal, her dashing fictional hero, Mr. Rochester.
Reminiscences of her past and of another man give Charlotte cause to doubt her choice, and to ask herself even at this late hour, should she go through with tomorrow’s marriage?
Reader, I Married Him
has a running time of 45 minutes. It needs an acting area of approximately 5m x 5m.
