With the summer here and many people on holidays, it looks like there are plenty of Brontë-related arts & crafts out there for you to amuse yourself. A few days ago we posted about the
Charlotte Brontë's shawl, and of course July is the month of
The Tenant of Wildfell Hall at Knit the Classics. Well now,
remember the Brontë samplers for cross-stitch?
Tempus Fugit posts a lovely picture of how all three look together. A very tempting pastime, isn't it?
Purple Plasticine has summarised Jane Eyre 2006 in 25 syllables (with rhyme!). Here's the little ditty:
Rochester and Jane
(portrayed by Toby Stephens & Ruth Wilson)
Intellectually equal,
Morally not,
Does that even matter
When Rochester is hot?
Haha - we love it!
More creative people out there. Julie Noble, the author of the book
Talli's Secret, talks about her book and self-publishing on
Fusion View.
The Spanish radio station
Radio Oasis Salamanca has just launched a new radio programme called
La loca en el ático (the madwoman in the attic). The programme goes on air every Tuesday from 9 to 10 pm to discuss feminist issues.
And now for some reviews of Jane Eyre. The novel is commented on by
ivygao and
adriaan bontebal - in Dutch. This might serve as a reminder that episode 1 of Jane Eyre 2006 will be
broadcast tonight in the Netherlands. A previous TV version of Jane Eyre - Jane Eyre 1997 - is reviewed on
Three Paragraph Review.
