The IMDb page for Brontë shows that Angela Workman - who worked very hard to get this project through - has been replaced (check this post) by director Charles Sturridge, possibly with the aim to attract a wider audience thanks to a better-known name.

Charles Sturridge directed the acclaimed TV mini-series Return to Brideshead, adapting Evelyn Waugh. He is best known for a couple of literary adaptations: A Handful of Dust (1988) (based on another novel by Evelyn Waugh) and Where the Angels Fear to Tread (1991) (by E.M. Forster). His last movie is Lassie (2005).

The script is still signed by Angela Workman, but it is to be expected that the new director will make some changes to it.

We really hope this film won't turn into a real-life version of The Brontë Project by Jennifer Vandever (which by the way is a project in development at Orchard Pictures)
