Now for some not-so-serious news as previously.
First of all,
Playbill announces something interesting for people in the Minneapolis area.
The Guthrie will also produce an Alan Stanford adaptation of Jane Eyre. [...]
On the Wurtele Thrust Stage
Sept. 8-Nov. 10, 2007: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, adapted for the stage by Alan Stanford, directed by John Miller-Stephany. "Charlotte Brontë’s beloved tale of romance and suspense receives a new adaptation by Alan Stanford, whose adaptation of Pride and Prejudice earned rave reviews by subscribers and critics alike. Jane Eyre accepts a position as a governess to a ward at Thornfield Manor and wins the love of her employer Edward Rochester, a kind, yet mysterious man. But soon, Jane's love, strength and determination are tested as Rochester's long-kept secrets are unveiled." (Kenneth Jones)
To continue with the arts subject, we have come across
a portrait of Charlotte Brontë with a new look by flickr user Nolan Mysterioz. Best of all, one of the tags says 'hot babe'.
Hopeful Romantic has posted something many livejournal users will
love. A set of Jane Eyre (2006) mood themes.
Laura's Messy Mind writes a report on a visit to
Belton House, which was used for several places in this recent adaptation of Jane Eyre. Laura was extremely excited especially about this:
... I walked into a bedroom.
This was no ordinary bedroom. For those of you who DID see Jane Eyre, you will know what the hell I'm talking about, but I was stood in ROCHESTER'S PARIS BEDROOM!! It took about 30 seconds for me to realise where I was and when I did realise?? Well for once in my life I didn't know what to say and all that came out of my mouth was..
'Ohhhhhhhhhh....WOW!!'
Pictures from her visit
here.
Liz from
Knitting on the Green also paid a visit to Haworth. She posts a brief summary and a few pictures.
And finally
Book, Bitch, and Blog posts about Emily Maguire's
Taming the Beast.
Lolita meets Wuthering Heights meets Nine and a Half Weeks (yes--really).
It is actually Jane Eyre though not Wuthering Heights, as far as we know.
