True love never dies. Romance, passion, heartbreak and redemption abound as actress, writer, and director, Carol Weakland, portrays the haunting intensity of Catherine Earnshaw’s love for Heathcliffin this one-woman adaptation of Emily Bronte’s, Wuthering Heights, at the McKinley Birthplace Home, 40 South Main Street, Niles, Ohio.

Experience some of literature’s most unforgettable characters as Ms. Weakland enacts this tale of romance, passion, heartbreak, and love that only increases its intensity after death.

Miss Weakland is no stranger to the McKinley Memorial Library. She previously performed the role of Jane Eyre, which was enjoyed by all who attended the program last November, which she has toured professionally for several years. [More information on this old post of ours].

Carol is the founder of the Great Expectations Theater Company, which brings classical literary works to life on stage. Wuthering Heights is just one of the countless productions she has adapted, directed, and performed throughout the years. Her young adult fantasy novel, Land of the Twilight Mist, which focuses on earthbound angels, is now available through Author House.

This performance is free to the public, but if you plan to attend, we do request that you please sign up at the McKinley Library by either speaking with a staff member at the Reference Desk, or call 330-652-1704 ext. 212.

“Jane Eyre”
Returning to the Lunch & Learn program having previously played an outstanding Emily Dickinson in “The Belle of Amherst,” actress, writer, and director Carol Weakland will perform Charlotte Bronte's romantic novel, Jane Eyre. Weakland tells the story as Jane and acts the parts of the other main characters. This promises to be another marvelous performance.
