The LipService Company is extending their performances of Withering Looks (more information in this old post). Today, January 19, the rendez-vous is in Gainsborough, UK.

As part of their celebrations, Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding reprise their cult Bronte spoof Withering Looks at a theatre near you!

As 2006 also marks the death 150 years ago of Charlotte Bronte, Maggie and Sue could hardly turn down the opportunity to dust off their crinolines, wear flattering bonnets and sit at rained-lashed windows in a pale and decorative manner.

Withering Looks takes an insightful look at the lives and works of the Bronte sisters - well, two of them anyway, Anne's just popped out for a cup of sugar following a bout of writer's block. Peopled with many of the characters we know and love, and some quite frankly that LipService have made up, Withering Looks is irreverent and a theatre treat to savour.
