Quite unexpectedly we have discovered that the first country, as far as we know, after Great Britain, that will broadcast the recent 2006 BBC adaptation of Jane Eyre will be Spain.

Today, January 1, Antena 3 TV airs the four episodes consecutively (16:00-21:00) (although the station's website has a picture that belongs to the 1997 version). We remind our readers that BBC4 will do exactly the same thing next Sunday, January 7.

  2. We are glad that you like it. Did you like the dubbing voices ? Did you know the original English version ? The original version has a Bertha Mason speaking (well, basically she only says a word :P)in Spanish (we wonder why not in French), in the Spanish she also speaks in Spanish?

  7. Thank you, Chris! We too reported the ratings the day after. Here: http://bronteblog.blogspot.com/2007/01/tea-cups-ratings-agnes-grey-and.html

I think - bearing in mind the circumstances - that the ratings were very satisfactory and encouraging.

  9. Hi!

Maybe Antena 3 will repeat again the series in the digital channel Antena 3.Nova, which you can watch with TDT device. If I get information, I will try to post it. Anyway, if any of you are from Spain, you can leave a message to Antena 3 asking to repeat Jane Eyre again in this web page (of course, better in Spanish): http://www.antena3.com/expresate/servlet/saexpresate
I have also asked for another BBC series like North & South or Middlemarch.

  10. Barbara,
If you take a look on the torrents websites around (just google a little bit or go to the imdb board of the series), you will see that the series is available for download. We don't provide this kind of links but we can tell you that there's even a web specifically dedicated to help with the Jane Eyre download.

Carmen, we will try to post about it if we receive the information. Do not hesitate to contact us if you happen to know about a repeat.
