The recent
Brontë Parsonage Blog post that we commented in
our previous post included a mention to Matt Lamb's exhibition at the Haworth School Room, "Spirits of the Brontë Sisters". We were unaware of this exhibition and, of course, we wanted to know more.
On
Matt Lamb's official website there's a lot of information about his exhibitions around the world and particularly in Haworth.
Haworth will be the first English village to host a Matt Lamb exhibition! It is a unique opportunity to introduce a contemporary painter and sculpturer in a shrine of English literature.
School Room - this is where Matt Lamb's paintings will be first exhibited in the UK. This 200-year-old historic building is located just between the Parish Church and the Brontë Parsonage Museum.
You can see lots of pictures of how the School Room was transformed for the exhibition
here. In the
picture you can see the new Charlotte Brontë room that features Matt Lamb's "Umbrellas for Peace project" (more information
here). If you have read
this, you know why we have chosen this picture in particular.
Another Brontë-related exhibition is taking place on the other side of the ocean. In
Natick, Massachussets.
"The Colorful World of Wuthering Heights - in Watercolors and Drawings," by artist Mary Haig, is on view in the auditorium at the Morse Institute Library, West Central Street in Natick. The exhibit will run through October.
You can see some more samples,
here.
