Today September 21, Dame's Darcy Jane Eyre is hitting the shops. Judging from what we have seen so far it looks like Dame Darcy has done a great job! Remember that you can check samples of the book in this post of ours.
Set in conservative Victorian society, Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre is a story of passion, loneliness, and one woman's struggle for independence. Originally published in 1847, it is still regarded as one of the best books of all time. This fall, underground comic book artist Dame Darcy re-imagines the tale in THE ILLUSTRATED JANE EYRE (Viking Studio/Penguin Group (USA); September 2006).

The haunting and beautiful nature of Brontë's story is perfectly complemented by Dame Darcy's lavish Neo-Victorian drawing style, an aesthetic movement that blends Victorian, Gothic, Punk and modern elements. THE ILLUSTRATED JANE EYRE updates the classic for a modern era in a new and enchanting edition.
If I were you I would stay tuned to BrontëBlog in the next few weeks since there might be some nice surprises regarding this book :)
