There's a lot of activity going on in the Brontës graphical adaptations. Recently we talked about Dame Darcy's illustrations for a new edition of Jane Eyre coming up in September, there are some other projects around that we would like to show to our readers.

Among many other activities that will be presented in due time, the Radical Brontës activities in the Illuminate Festival that will take place in Bradford in September which has triggered the publication of a graphical novel adapting Wuthering Heights that will appear in September. It has been illustrated by Siku (Wikipedia dixit: Siku is the pseudonym of British/Nigerian artist Ajibayo Akinsiku, whose fully-painted work (particularly on Judge Dredd and the Pan-African Judges stories) has been appearing in 2000AD and the Judge Dredd Megazine since 1991. Siku also works in the computer games industry and as a freelance illustrator and artist) and written Adam Strickson.

The book will be on sale at events throughout the festival. Launch event 16 September 2006 at Waterstones, The Wool Exchange, Bradford.

We present you with some samples of this work, kindly provided by the artist himself. Click on the pictures to enlarge them.
