We have a couple of news today, both in relation to writing and the shadow of the Brontës.

The Record talks about a recently published book called Writing Life. In it

[Jane] Urquhart offers [a] poem about the Bronte sisters, who have influenced her writing -- especially her second novel Changing Heaven.

The Guardian has an article called 'Under the influence' where they mention that Virginia Woolf herself thanked Emily Brontë - among others - in her preface to Orlando. Here's the original quote:

Many friends have helped me in writing this book. So are dead and so illustrious that I scarcely dare name them, yet no one can read or write without being perpetually in the debt of [...] Emily Brontë [...].

Beautiful tribute, huh?
