Some days ago we presented a US regional production of Jane Eyre. The Musical in Riverton, Utah. Now, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, takes the baton. The Acacia Theatre Company is performing the Paul Gordon's musical starting today July 7:

Acacia’s season will close with the Milwaukee premiere of "Jane Eyre," the John Caird/Paul Gordon musical that was nominated for five Tony Awards in 2001. A haunting, compelling score brings to life Charlotte Brontë's sweeping Gothic tale of romance and redemption. The love shared by the young governess Jane and her master, the melancholy Edward Rochester, is nearly destroyed by a dark secret he keeps hidden in the shadows of Thornfield Hall. Together, they discover the truth that "forgiveness is mightiest sword."

"I’ve wanted the opportunity to present this production since I first read the script," Janet Peterson, the artistic director, said. "The story is so powerful and such a classic. The music absolutely soars. It will provide the perfect challenge to launch Acacia Theatre Company into its second 25 years."
