We were in for a huge surprise when we opened our inbox.
Jennifer Vandever, author of
The Brontë Project - that book we have talked about so much in here ever since it was
first released and which we are so looking forward to reading - most kindly wrote to us with a couple of updates on the book. You can't imagine how honoured we feel! This is what she wrote:
The book just came out in the UK from Simon & Schuster this past month and is now available in the US in paperback. The Brontë Project has also been optioned for film adaptation by Orchard Pictures' producer Jen Small (Cosmopolitan) and director Nisha Ganatra (Chutney Popcorn, Cake).
The book is also available now in Spanish, El proyecto Brontë, with Italian and Polish versions soon to follow...
______________
Exciting news about a possible film, isn't it? We will keep an eye out for any further news on it. Also we knew the book was being translated into Spanish but didn't know it was
already available (see the cover in the pic).
Remember you can still
read the first chapter of this book thanks to The New York Times (though you will need
bugmenot.com to log in).
Additionally, you can read a very interesting
Q&A with Jennifer Vandever about The Brontë Project or check her own
myspace.
So, a
BIG thank you to Jennifer Vandever for her kind e-mail, and the best of luck with her future (Brontë or not) projects.
