After the timber, it's the antiques. Thanks to Matlock Today we have found out where the antiques used as props in Jane Eyre 2006 come from.

The store [Matlock Antiques] has a claim to celebrity status, as it has supplied props for several television programmes including the recent BBC production of Jane Eyre, and has had a few star customers including Andy Serkis, the Lord of the Rings and King Kong star.

It seems like Haddon Hall is being seriously transformed into Thornfield. Good, good, good.

(And yes, you can tell we are desperate for more news on this BBC production, can't you?)

  1. Haha! I share your desperation! I fear though that there won’t be much more now until the autumn when the BBC starts advertising its new season of progs. Unless we can find a way to link Jane Eyre to the World Cup…

  2. We were wondering only yesterday where we could find a connection between the World Cup and the Brontës! But seeing as sports commentators are fond of using the Brontës in their articles, perhaps we will yet come across something.

There are still a few things left to know about the production, really. I hope we get to hear about them before autumn!
