The 5th Avenue High School Musical Theatre Awards, sponsored by Wells Fargo, is a program that has been designed as a high school version of the Tony Awards. Each year, high school students throughout Washington State put on quality musical theater entertainment, and we want to recognize their hard work and effort.

And the recent student production in Edmonds, WA that we presented some weeks ago has some nominations.

Outstanding Scenic Design: Edmonds Home School Resource Center, Jane Eyre (WINNER)

Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role: Nikki Hayes as Mrs. Fairfax, Jane Eyre (Nomination)

Outstanding Female Actor in a Featured Role: Renee Ambacher as Bertha Mason, Jane Eyre (Nomination)

Outstanding Direction: Shileah Corey, Jane Eyre (Nomination)

Outstanding Lighting Design: Edmonds Home School Resource Center, Jane Eyre/Secret Garden (Nomination)

Outstanding Hair and Make-Up Design: Edmonds Home School Resource Center, Jane Eyre (Nomination)

Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role: Lauren Ruhl as Jane Eyre, Jane Eyre (Honorable mention)

Outstanding Male Actor in a Leading Role: Nathan Lohr as Edward Rochester, Jane Eyre (Honorable mention).

Playbill reminds us that today June 10, five years ago, Jane Eyre. The musical closed in Broadway:
