Anyone who has ever read a Brontë biography will know that the Morgan Library in New York is in possession of a Brontë collection. So it comes as good news that the Morgan Library opens its doors to the public tomorrow after undergoing a millionaire renovation.

As usual, if you're not in New York, we invite you to bridge the distance and play around with a couple of Brontë items from the collection.

Here's the manuscript of Emily Brontë's "The Night of Storms Has Past", dated 10 June 1837. Don't be afraid to zoom in as close as possible!

And here are a few items from the Bonnell Collection* by all four siblings. Again, zoom in, zoom out, have fun!

*No, that wasn't a mistake. There are two Bonnell Collections. The well-known one in Haworth and this one. Henry H. Bonnell had intended all of his Brontë possessions to go to Haworth after his death, but his widow didn't feel comfortable sending it all back and depriving their own country of a few precious items, and so she took several of them and bequeathed them to the Morgan Library.
