We wake up to find a couple of mentions of the Brontës in the Canadian press.

The Toronto Star has an article on walks on the Pennine Way. A very interesting article just for the sake of it, but it has this:

There is also the literary geography: the moors have inspired many a poet and the songs of Ewan McColl and the Way cross the Haworth moors, quintessential Bronte country. Farther north, the Dales are full of James Herriot villages.

Quintessential indeed, especially if the heather happens to be in full bloom!

And through this article on canada.com we find about a columnist called Ron Corbett whose articles and style are thus described:

From the latest foibles at city hall, to an elderly man reading Anne Bronte novels next to the worst crack house in the nation’s capital, award-winning journalist Ron Corbett offers a unique vision of our city every Saturday in Life In The City.

We have been unable to trace the column on the elderly man reading Anne Brontë but just the mention is so extraordinary that we felt we simply had to post it! We'd love to read that column though.
