This might not be totally Brontë-related - except for the village and the Victorian costumes - but we thought it was an endearing tradition and event and well worth the mention. Plus, who can deny the pleasure of roaming the Haworth streets any day?

So, if you're close to the area today by 2pm (hurry, you still have about two hours!) you can be a witness to this:

A procession of local children in traditional Victorian dress welcome Santa and the Christmas spirit to the Village. Procession starts at 2:00pm bottom of Main St.

With children dressed in Victorian costume including the Holly Queen, the Ivy Princess and all the attendants the Holly Queen is crowned in a traditional ceremony, then she opens the gates to Christmas letting Santa and his entourage out to do their work bringing Christmas cheer flooding into Main Street.

If you're not quite so sure yet, take a look at last year's pictures!

EDIT (21-11): Pictures of the 2005 edition are already up!
