Brontë Studies readers might already be acquainted with an American chain of stores called Brontë Bistros. In the March 2005 issue of Brontë Studies the owner did indeed say that he had named them after the Brontë sisters, and at one point he even had one Shaker Heights store in Cleveland which he had to close down.

Joseph Beth is the proud owner of these bookshop-cum-bistro places and funnily enough he has just opened a new bookshop and Brontë Bistro in the town of Charlotte!! Could you ask for more artificially created (or not) coincidences?
