VIP (Ireland) interviews singer/songwriter Sharon Corr.
During downtime, are you big into reading, what was the best book you’ve read recently?
Jane Eyre! I’m a divil for Brontë and Jane Austen. I really love the way that they wrote. Sometimes I get irritated with very casual language. It’s very stimulating for my brain but I love a good ol’ love story as well with a bit of heartache and tragedy thrown in. It’s great. To sleep, I listen to audiobooks and it’s all Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes. It’s beautiful literature and they’ve great stories. (Michelle Dardis)
Her sister Andrea Corr played Jane Eyre a few years ago.
The Times features The Who guitarist Pete Townshend's new career move.
The Who guitarist ended up playing on every track for the Bookshop Band’s new album, which is inspired by novels including Brave New World and Jane Eyre [...]
He said: “I got into the whole Bookshop Band technique, which is just two people making this sound like a symphony orchestra. Each song was special in its own way.”
Townshend has produced Porter and Please’s new album, Emerge, Return, which includes 13 songs inspired by books including Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë and The Testaments by Margaret Atwood. (Mark Smith, Lizzie Roberts)
