The successful applicant will work closely with our permanent curator to develop temporary exhibitions and displays and devise fresh and exciting ways to access and engage with the Museum’s outstanding collection of Brontë manuscripts, furniture, clothing and personal possessions.
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for museums and a belief in the positive impact they can have on lives and wellbeing. You will be experienced in all aspects of collections management and also have experience of developing and delivering events and activities linked to collections. Candidates will also need to demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to work across teams to help the Brontë Society achieve its aims and ambitions and reflect its status as a National Portfolio Organisation and an Accredited Museum.

During July and August we will be open each Monday - please do get in touch if you are interested in volunteering on a short-term basis: morning, afternoon or all day shifts will be available.
We are privileged to have such an enthusiastic, welcoming team of volunteers who play a key role in making a visit to the Brontë Parsonage Museum one to remember. Our museum is for everyone and the reasons for volunteering are many and varied - a place to learn something new, meet people and make friends, develop different skills, maybe even take on new challenges - ultimately to enjoy the time that you are giving.
Full training will be given covering all aspects of visitor engagement, travel expenses refunded (limits apply), time in the Research Library as part of your ongoing development, team-wide socials throughout the year, we participate in the Northern Museums Volunteer Pass programme.
