Book Club is a comedy variety show where hosts Colin Stokes and Blythe Roberson (The New Yorker, The Onion), along with some of NYC's best comedians, read the books so you don't have to.
And, according to the
New York Times, today's show is all about
Wuthering Heights:
This regular series has all the fun parts of being in a book club without the work of actually reading a book. This week, Colin Stokes and Blythe Roberson, whose names you may recognize from their work in The Onion and The New Yorker, welcome the comedians Conner O’Malley, Catherine Cohen and Saurin Choksi to discuss the latest selection, “Wuthering Heights.” (Kasia Pilat)

Wuthering Heights, 2011 + introduction by Dr Michael Lawrence
Andrea Arnold’s radical retelling of the Emily Brontë classic does away with many of the traditional trappings of the period drama genre, instead focusing on the minutia of the flora and fauna of the Yorkshire landscape. The story, of course, follows the story of Heathcliff, a poor boy of unknown origins, who is taken in by the Earnshaw family only to develop an intense relationship with his foster sister, Cathy.
Dr Michael Lawrence will be introducing the screening, discussing the representation of landscape in the film.
