Explore Penistone Hill through words and film
October 26, 7:00pm

Writer Kristina Diprose and filmmaker John Slemensek-Thorne have been exploring Penistone Hill culminating in this launch of their respective work in words and film, followed by a Q&A.
How to Talk to the Moor by Kristina Diprose is a new 3-mile audio trail and nature walk from Haworth across Penistone Hill, celebrating the wild beauty of Brontë Country. The trail includes 12 ‘Way-finder’ poems across the Nature Reserve where you’re invited to listen to stories of nature recovery, folklore, hauntings, and the subterranean world beneath your feet.
To launch the trail, writer Kristina Diprose and actor Beccie Allen will deliver an indoor performance of the Wayfinder sequence in full as the voices of the walker and the moor.
John Slemensek-Thorne is a socially engaged artist inspired and motivated by the power the arts have in connecting us all. This will be the premiere screening of his new short film Sundial, developed over his residency, which paints an atmospheric and mediative portrait of Penistone Hill in the here and now.
