The Victoria Miro gallery in Venice, Italy, celebrates its 40th anniversary:
4 July–6 September 2025

To mark its 40th anniversary, Victoria Miro is proud to present a special exhibition celebrating the gallery’s long-standing relationship with the city of Venice—a place that has inspired, hosted, and deeply connected with many of its represented artists over the years. This exhibition is part of the wider program of commemorative events and exhibitions organized throughout 2025, honouring four decades of artistic collaboration and commitment to contemporary art.
Bringing together a distinguished group of artists who share a unique creative dialogue with Venice, the exhibition showcases a selection of new and recent works that echo the spirit, history, and atmosphere of the city. From its architectural grandeur to its layered cultural legacy, Venice has been a source of fascination and artistic stimulus, and this presentation reflects the diversity of interpretations and responses it continues to provoke.
Participating artists include Hernan Bas, María Berrío, Christian Holstad, Kudzanai-Violet Hwami, Chantal Joffe, Doron Langberg, Chris Ofili, Celia Paul, Grayson Perry, Paula Rego, and Flora Yukhnovich—each bringing their own voice and sensibility to the conversation, enriching this celebratory moment in the gallery’s history.

One of the paintings in the exhibition, as shown in the picture, is Paula Rego's Jane Eyre (2002).

Furthermore, the touring exhibition Paula Rego: Visions of English Literature is currently in Kilnarnock (June 20- September 27). The Herald has an article about it.
