Beggars Arkive is proud to announce the inaugural BBC Radio Sessions vinyl series, featuring ten performances recorded for John Peel, each pressed to 12" clear vinyl exclusively for subscribers, alongside a bespoke foil-numbered record box and certificate of authenticity.
Something special from Beggars Banquet, the gothy post-punk Eighties indie (though it began in the Seventies), which eventually became home to a wide range of styles. As is demonstrated by the new 500-limited-edition Beggars Arkive box. Nineties Northumbland punks China Drum with their best-known tune, their cover of “Wuthering Heights”; (...) . It’s a rip-roaring selection that showcases indie fare at its most freewheeling, loose and exciting. (Thomas H. Green)
